We blame our leaders but i think also we kenyans have a biiig problem. I watched this clip and got ashamed of myself that i even don't understand of such a problem exists in the first place.

I agree, this is quite disturbing. But I do not think this is the right solution for the long term. It will just cultivate a sense of dependency in these girls. It is better to think of ways of:

1) Building up cottage industries to make cheap sanitary pads. They can't be that hard to make. It will both provide employment and create a long term solution.

2) No one should live in these lousy conditions in slums. We need to find ways to provide better housing, jobs and other basic infrastructure.

A tall order with our current politicians.
